Job Description

Position: R amp;D Technical Administrator Reports to: Director, R amp;DWe are looking for an R amp;D Technical Administrator to join our R amp;D team! Our R amp;D Technical Administrator will update documents databases for ingredients, process controls, and finished products, and generally supporting the requirements of growing operations.OpportunitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical and administrative knowledge and creativity to help develop and improve our delicious, plant-based products!   • Proficiency: Proficiency in using relevant laboratory equipment, software applications, and data analysis tools.

  • You are a strong communicator with both written and verbal communication
  • You are organized and able to manage multiple projects, experiments and document effectively
  • You are committed to maintaining confidentiality when working with proprietary recipes, formulas and trade secrets
  • Creating analytical standards for various lab equipment
  • You can maintain a positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset when challenges arise
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends to accommodate production testing, when necessary
Knowledgeamp; skills
  • You have excellent record-keeping skills to maintain accurate and detailed documentation of raw materials and finished product specifications.
  • You have proficiency in preparing reports, summaries, and technical documentation to communicate gaps and challenges in maintaining databases of information.
  • You have proficiency in working with computers, and computer applications such as Excel, Word, and the ability to learn other systems.
  • You have experience with techniques for sample preparation and packaging. Understand food microbiology principles, typical spoilage organisms, and control strategies
Experience
  • You have least 6 months of R amp;D and or QA experience in a food production facility
  • You have a degree or diploma in food science, food technology or related field
Nice-to-Have
  • Hands-on baking experience is a bonus
  • Knowledge on illustrations/drawing applications
Detailed Description of Duties:
  • Create and manage databases for ingredients, processing/manufacturing steps, and finished products
  • Prepare accurate and detailed reports, and providing recommendations to resolve gaps in databases
  • Develop informative and engaging visual guides for plant operations
  • Organizing supplier submissions
  • Preparing finished products and ensuring checklists for samples are completed
  • Support the development and maintenance of quality control processes
  • Track and maintain inventory of product samples for various testing requirements
  • Ability to lift 12 kg
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends to accommodate production testing, when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
