Whether you’re staging equipment, assisting with loading and unloading, or keeping the yard in top shape, your contributions will help keep things moving. If you love equipment and enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment, this is the opportunity for you!Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate location of equipment in database.
  • Maintain records of all transactions in the yard.
  • Wash and clean equipment as needed.
  • Inspect equipment upon arrival and prior to departure from yard. Ensure that rental units leaving and returning have 360’s completed and that all damages, fuel level and cleanliness of machines are reported to rental coordinators for billing purposes.
  • Prepare and stage equipment in yard.
  • Load/unload equipment on trailer.
  • Spotting Heavy Machinery operators.
  • Clean work areaamp; tools.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Employ workplace health and safety practices at all times.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Operate forklifts, Bobcat, pallet jacks in indoor and outdoor environment (training will be provided).
  • Familiarity with Compact Construction equipment a plus.
  • Strong Computer Skills.
  • Physical exertion required, including, but not limited to walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent exposure to the elements.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication abilities – verbal and written.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Valid driver license required and a clean driving record.
Training, Education and Experience:
  • 1-2 years of work experience in an Industrial environment using or organizing equipment.
  • Experience operating equipment would be an asset.
  • High school diploma.
Compensation package:
  • The Yard Person enjoys a competitive remuneration package, including wages between $19.96 to $25.47 per hour, a pension plan, medical and dental coverage, and vacation as per the Collective Agreement.

Working Conditions: The Yard Person is based out of the Abbotsford office and works 40 hours on average per week Monday to Friday.
