This position is in Cargill’s food ingredients and bio-industrial business, where we anticipate trends around taste, nutrition and safety to innovate and provide solutions to manufacturers, retailers and foodservice companies.Job Purpose and ImpactThe Breeding Research Assistant will support breeding and pathology activities throughout the field season. In this role, you will prepare and collect nursery and yield trial data for the research associates and breeders while resolving common issues and problems. Key AccountabilitiesCollect phenotypic data from field research trials.Provide general equipment and facility cleaning.Understand and comply with safety regulations and other procedural compliance regulations.Organize experimental seed for use in field trials ensuring process and quality control guidelines are followed.Coordinate with breeding associates to execute on field nursery plot maintenance, selfing, sample collection and harvest.Handle moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.Other duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma, secondary education level or equivalentMinimum of two years of related work experienceMust be legally entitled to work at Cargill in CanadaPossess a valid Canadian Full Class 5 Driver’s Licence in good standing, authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employmentOther minimum qualifications may apply Preferred QualificationsComputer skills and knowledge including spreadsheet applicationsExperience in small plot researchAgriculture related field experience Position InformationRelocation assistance will not be provided for this positionCargill is an equal opportunity employer and committed to providing accommodation to our job applicants with disabilities.Quick Apply
