Job Description

Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic Full Time/Permanent to support our project in Edmonton, Alberta.Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Shop Mechanic repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment at our Edmonton location shop.Forbes Bros Ltd. has a family-oriented culture that focuses on flexibility, communication, growthamp; respect in the workplace. Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow Forbes Bros values of WE WORK SAFEamp; never compromise on safety in all aspects of our day.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical / hydraulic systems and components on our diverse fleet including but not limited to commercial tractor-trailer units and power infrastructure related equipment.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections.
  • Assist with troubleshooting of electrical systems and components.
  • Maintain the service truck and keep stocked with commonly used parts.
  • Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new project sites.
  • Responsible for maintaining the service truck logbooks.
  • Responsible for creating and updating work orders within Viewpoint.
  • Maintain shop tools and work area to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as issues arise.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification, or combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • 3-5 years related experience.
  • Self-directed, outgoing personality and a team player.
  • Organized with attention to detail and time management.
  • Service orientated with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage timelines effectively.
  • Able and willing to present a valid Driver #39;s License and maintain an acceptable MVR.
  • Background check requirements if applicable.
