The OpportunityWe are currently looking for an engaging, fun, and creative After School Activity Worker who enjoys working with school aged children. Reporting to the Family Place Supervisor, the After School Activity Worker will provide direct leadership, facilitation and supervision to children in an after school activity program.   • To ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times by ensuring consistent supervision.
  • To assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities.
  • To ensure activities within each club are focused on program goals and outcomes.
  • To ensure activities within each club are designed to generate participant interest, are age appropriate and well organized.
  • To provide guidance and behavior management strategies to children/youth engaged in the program.
  • To keep attendance records and evaluate program success.
  • To develop and maintain positive and relationships with children/youth, their families and with school personnel.
  • To respect the privacy and confidentiality of children/youth and their families.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Knowledge:
  • Certificate in a relevant field
Training and Experience:
  • One (1) year recent work experience, or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience working with children and youth in a social/recreational capacity
Skills and Abilities:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
