Otter Co-op is now accepting applications for Full-Time Deli Associates at our Retail Centre located in Langley, BC.Who we are:Otter Co-op is a diverse and growing organization with locations throughout the Lower Mainland and Okanagan. We currently operate three food and pharmacy stores, clothing and hardware, twenty-six Angry Otter liquor stores, two feed mills, two bulk petroleum facilities, a feed and hardware store in Pitt Meadows, Angry Otter Tap & Forno, Angry Otter Brewery in North Vancouver, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, eleven gas station/convenience stores and growing.   • Providing responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests
  • Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats and cheeses
  • Preparing special orders and party trays
  • Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased
  • Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order
  • Following all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies
  • Cooperating with others to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Perform opening and closing procedures
  • Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence

  • Experience working a Deli counter or in food preparation
  • Proven customer service or retail experience is a plus
  • Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 25 to 50 lbs., and operate equipment, such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, cash registers, etc.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and math skills
  • Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation
  • A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints
  • Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
  • Must be available 7 days a week to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Day time hours preferred.
  • This position is based at the Retail Centre, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise
