Aqua Spa & Pool Supply is wholesale distributor in the rapidly growing and exciting pool, spa and backyard living industry. We serve the Western Canada market from our Aldergrove, BC warehouse and head office as well as our Calgary, AB branch location. We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven General Manager to join the management team in guiding the company’s future. The General Manager will be based at our Aldergrove BC facility and coordinate the activities of the company in areas including sales, distribution, warehouse operations, logistics and customer care.The General Manger is responsible for managing overall day to day operations including the below functions:
  • Manage operations to ensure accurate, cost-effective processes and exceptional customer service to customers.
  • Implement and monitor business improvement strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Set budgets for effective use of resources to optimize performance and growth.
  • Manage recruitment, people management, staff development and employee retention to meet and exceed operational goals.
  • Work closely with purchasing team to maintain optimal replenishments of inventory and support a strong supply chain.
  • Consistently monitor industry news and trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Participate in inventory management, supporting supply and demand planning.
  • Attend and participate in management strategy meetings.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Manage customer relationships and resolve service-related issues.
  • Develop extensive product knowledge in the pool & spa industry.
  • Attend industry tradeshows and other events as needed.
  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports as needed.
  • Travel to the Calgary facility as needed to provide support.
Necessary Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of operations or management experience in wholesale distribution.
  • Degree in business management or similar post secondary education.
  • Proven track record as a coach, mentor, and developer of talent within an organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and understand the importance of listening and collaborating with customers to identify issues and find solutions.
  • Knowledge of working with ERP systems.
  • An ability to drive to organizational goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management, and project management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicting priorities.
  • A strong understanding of continuous improvement methods and philosophies.
