Job Description

EBC is positioned as a true leader in this sector. Our range of specialized services has made our reputation in Canada.The responsibilities of the Procurement Manager include:

  • Supervise procurement professionals on the project/in the office;
  • Develop, recommend and implement policies, procedures, systems and standards for the procurement function;
  • Plan and execute the overall procurement strategy;
  • Manage all procurement activities, plans, execution and delivery;
  • Ensure planning of resources and procurement activities in accordance with the project schedule;
  • Manage relationships between project suppliers and subcontractors to optimize financial, operational performance and administrative compliance;
  • Develop and draft the legal terms of the call for tender process in collaboration with the legal department;
  • Prepare the scope of work and specifications for the tender process;
  • Prepare reports and cost analysis of market conditions and costs of goods;
  • Negotiate prices and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts, including terms and conditions;
  • Control the process if additional change orders are necessary;
  • Develop and prepare reports for senior project management to provide an update to the procurement process;
  • Other functions and tasks related to management, as well as procurement in the office or on the project.
Requirements
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics;
  • Certified Professional Buyer title is considered a strong asset;
  • 10-15 years of experience in purchasing management;
  • Experience in the construction industry, preferably in civil engineering;
  • Experience/knowledge and existing relationships with key local suppliers is a strong asset;
  • Practical experience in procurement processes and methods, as well as contractual, accounting, and planning principles;
  • Excellent command of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Bilingual (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
