Job Description

Position:Trade Compliance AnalystReports Directly: Supply Chain Manager, Thomson Power SystemsFunction: Supply Chainamp; MaterialsLocations:Langley, BC, Canada (onsite)Thomson Power Systems (a Regal Rexnord company) is a leading manufacturer of electrical products and systems for use in the power generation industry for over 50 years. We are currently looking for a Trade Compliance Analyst to work under the leadership of our Supply Chain Manager. The Trade Compliance Analyst #39;s primary function is to determine and maintain Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and country of origin certificates for parts, components, and finished products to comply fully with Free Trade Agreement (FTA) requirements, namely USMCA and CUSMA. Additionally, the Trade Compliance Analysis will be the primary contact for all logistics related activities for the site. The successful candidate will work very closely with the corporate trade compliance team; as well as with division engineering and operations managers and logistic/warehouse team to align with corporate policies and procedures.   • Work with engineering to identify or update HTS classifications of components, raw materials, chemicals, spare kits, and finished goods.
  • Request, update, and maintain certificates of origin from suppliers in the business ERP system.
  • Analyze existing and newly released Bill of Materials (BOM) for FTA eligibility.
  • Issue FTA related certificates to customers as required.
  • Train associates on FTA related procedures and policies as required.
  • Ensure site compliance to USMCA/CUSMA and other FTA related regulations (Corporate and Federal).
  • Ensure trade compliance records are maintained per corporate policy.
  • Conduct annual trade compliance audit per corporate policy and standard.
  • Create, update, and manage trade compliance and logistics related end-to-end procedures and work instructions.
  • Be the primary point of contact for logistics related activities for the site.
  • Investigate or troubleshoot all non-compliant and detained shipments of goods and determine appropriate corrective action leading to final throughput to its destination.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by department leader.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and Regal Rexnord Business Systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic qualifications:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree from accredited institution or equivalent related experience.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing, design engineering environment, or similar experience.
  • 1-3 years of trade compliance or logistics experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple teams geographically dispersed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Post graduate specialization in International Trade, Logistics, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Exposure to SAP EPR, Trade Automation, and PRISMA.
  • Clear understanding of Canada and US customs import and export regulations.
  • Experience writing ruling requests and ruling decisions.
  • Licensed Customs Broker will be considered as an asset.
