Temporary Part-Time – up to 20 hours per week – Fall 2022 – Spring 2023J0822-2048Reporting to the Supervisor, Facilities & Property and guided by the Senior Facilities Operators, this position assists with the overall facilities maintenance/cleanliness during the winter months.Responsibilities:Assists with facility maintenance including general cleaning and disinfecting of high traffic areas such as washrooms, change rooms, and lobby areas as well as emptying of garbage, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning arena glass.Assists with set up and take down of tables and chairs for event at arena halls.Moves hockey nets and assists with ice maintenance.Operates light duty equipment safely, wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment.Reports in writing any damages of a serious nature to the immediate Supervisor. Ensures daily activity log and financial records are completed and submitted in a timely manner. Ensures time sheet is filled in accurately and submitted to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.Works safely and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Town Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and complies with all corporate competencies, values, and operational guidelines.Qualifications:Must be at least 14 years old.Some prior work experience is preferred.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and be able to communicate with the public, including the ability to deal with difficult situations in a respectful and diplomatic manner.Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and have legible handwriting.The successful candidate must have the ability to align with established goals and objectives and is able to create/follow plans and processes accordingly to deliver task and goal completion to a high standard.
