This is where you can do your best work.Join us at the intersection of saving and sustaining lives—where your purpose accelerates our mission.Summary of ResponsibilitiesWe are currently looking for energetic, hard-working Kiefel/CMM Operator to work a full-time permanent position on our Day shift - Monday to Friday (6:45-15:00) at our Alliston facility. Starting wage is Level 5, step 1.The Kiefel/CMM Operator is responsible for Operate Weigh Blender and PVC Grinder. Perform all necessary Q.A. checks and documentation for the Weigh Blender and PVC Grinder as required. Assist Kiefel department with regrind activities as necessary. Operate the CMM Machine supporting the Kiefel Die management program, support Kiefel change parts preparation. Maintain oversight on parts for format changes ensuring enough spares, ensure proper storage of dies – change parts to prevent damage and degradation.Due to the nature of our business, Baxter follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) which requires our employees to focus on cleanliness and contamination control. Other aspects of GMP that must be observed are no makeup or jewelry in the production areas.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate the Weigh Blender and PVC grinder in a safe manner.
• Operate the CMM Machine, Die maintenance and storage, prepare Kiefel change parts for changeover as required, work within the Kiefel Department to support changeovers as required, parts inventory.
• Perform QA inspections and complete documentation following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) to support release of product.
• Troubleshoot and make minor equipment adjustments to produce a quality product in an efficient manner.
• Use of computer to enter shop floor data & order raw materials necessary.
• Maintain all necessary production paperwork ensuring materials used correspond with B.O.M.
• Transport raw materials, parts and finished products following safe lifting guidelines and utilize lift devices and material handling equipment

Job Requirements

• Successful completion of High School diploma or GED required (Proof will be requested)
• Knowledge of plastics equipment tooling such as dies and injection molds.
• Experience doing repetitive tasks.
• Fast-paced environment, high pressure.
• Manufacturing/Quality experience in a GMP environment.
• Demonstrated good attendance in present position.
• Demonstrated good performance & good quality in present position.
• Demonstrated good attitude utilizing Baxter’s Shared Commitments
• Flexibility to work overtime as required.
• Experience in Trouble shooting mechanical problems.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Experience in working effectively both independently, and as part of a team.
• Proven ability to be proactive and self-motivated on the job.
• Demonstrated ability to document data correctly per CA GPP 80.
• Must have the ability to comprehend Baxter Specifications / SOP’s and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Demonstrated precision-based mindset related measurement, set-up, care, handling and tooling management.
• Methodical and organized;
• Precise and 6sigma oriented keeping the workspace clean – in order – well organized.
• Knowledge of PC windows platform;
• Skilled with /use of PC
• Equipment used: Weigh Blender, PVC Grinder, 4-wheel trolleys, manual jacks, electric hoist, 4-wheel pushcart, Q.A. tools and gauges and computer, CMM machine, ultrasonic bath, chemical blending.

Preferred:

• Experience in injection molding, BFS technology, pharmaceutical plastics tooling, BFS equipment operation, troubleshooting and repair.
• Quality oriented mentality and clear understanding of quality defects;
• Knowledge of Kiefel – SAPA processes;
• Knowledge of mechanical basics (materials – geometry)
