Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the Medical Affairs portfolio, the Physician Recruitment Consultant reports to the Manager, Physician Recruitment and Director of Physician Recruitment and works collaboratively with the Zone Medical Executive Director, the department Chiefs and Site Leads to support the recruitment of physicians to areas of need across Nova Scotia Health Authority.The incumbent ensures the development of a collaborative and strategic approach to recruitment and retention, resource planning and the privileging and credentialing functions. The Physician Recruitment Consultant leads the development of these activities in a manner consistent with the overall strategic direction of the organization. Valuing teamwork, the consultant works with the Medical Affairs team and local leadership to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with physicians, community and government partners.*Qualifications*

  • Bachelors Degree in relevant and related field.
  • Minimum 3 years recent and relevant recruitment experience.
  • Recent and relevant sales and marketing experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and Canadian College of Family Physicians eligibility and licensing requirements.
  • General knowledge of the federal and provincial legislation governing medical services and working knowledge of the development process for Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules & Regulations.
  • Superior marketing, social media, and public relations skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally to present practice opportunities in a positive manner.
  • Exhibits a high energy level, and demonstrates the ability to work as a team, with flexibility in work habits to schedule and meet the needs of the medical staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize a large volume of detail-oriented work in accordance with changing deadlines
  • Demonstrates experience in initiating and managing multiple projects
  • Possesses extensive experience in the application of spreadsheets and database development management and analysis
  • Demonstrates positive approach to challenging situations
  • Has the ability to synthesize discussions into position opportunity descriptions
  • Has knowledge of recruitment, human resource management and HR planning processes
  • Demonstrates superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Is highly sensitive to the nature of this position which requires judgment, tact, creativity, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality
  • Is self-directed with substantial initiative and creativity expected
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to effectively organize heavy workloads, take initiative and be self- disciplined
  • Strong social media and marketing skills; creative storyteller with the ability to create content for social media posts, conferences, events, and webinars
  • Ability to track, measure and analyze recruitment marketing efforts to determine what is working and what is not and adjust as needed
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to foster and promote excellent relationships and enhance inter-portfolio communication
  • Experience with advertising and short listing for interviews along with interviewing experience
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills required
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, financial management, project management, research writing and analysis
  • Strong computer technology skills including, but not limited to, virtual meeting platforms, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Effective team develop and leader
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
