Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Manager, Access & Flow, the Resource Facilitator is responsible for coordinating the initial response to the Administrative aspects of patient care during assigned shifts. This position provides a liaison between managers and management-on-call. Specific duties include replacement of staff, acquisition of supplies, health records and radiology films. The person in this position must have a global view of the hospital with an overview of bed allocation coupled with admission criteria appropriate to all units.Qualifications

  • Graduate of grade 12 or equivalent required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Medical Terminology required.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience working with computers applications is required.
  • Experience and knowledge with Meditech is required.
  • Knowledge of the Kronos scheduling system is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Union contracts is an asset.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel (or similar applications) is required.
  • BCLS required.
  • Ability to function independently in an organized manner with minimal supervision is required.
  • Ability to work shift work, evenings, nights and weekends required.
  • Ability to work as an integral member of a team is required.
  • Ability to use good decision making skills under pressure is essential.
  • Previous work attendance will be considered.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
