We believe in work that creates value for all stakeholders, encourages collaboration at all levels and focuses on a high-performance environment where employees are challenged to be their best.We are currently seeking a Shipping Coordinator to join our Team at our Amherst site in Amherst, Nova Scotia.The Amherst Plant is located in a fully established community of 10,000, situated on the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border on the northeast end of the Cumberland Basin, an arm of the Bay of Fundy. Amherst is two hours from Halifax and less than an hour’s drive from Moncton, NB. The plant employs 50 and has an annual capacity of 127,000 tons of food grade and water-softening salt, serving customers throughout the Maritimes, Quebec and the Eastern United States.Summary: The person in this position is primarily responsible for shipping and receiving activities for the plant site. Truck check-in, data input, auditing, spreadsheet management, report generation and documentation are all key activitiesEssential Job Functions: Include but are not limited to the following:(Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)

  • Checks in arriving trucks and generates pick list, if needed. He will also confirm truck driver identity.
  • Inputs pick list data into computer (E1) and generates bill of lading. Review bill of ladings for accuracy.
  • Recording production batches into the E1 data base. This would also include accurately filling out manual entry forms
  • Fax/Email Certificate of Analysis for railcar, truck and other orders as required
  • Audits daily Amherst Plant orders and receipts, process invoices as required
  • Administers warehouse transfers
  • Participates and accountable for cycle counts and traceability
  • Manages return authorization process (issues, tracks, reports)
  • Recording mother product production and daily reconciliation of production.
  • Servicing sales orders involving duties such as communicating with truck drivers and customers.
  • Picking and processing customers’ orders.
  • Determine load distribution in bulk trucks and reconciliation of an equipment issues
  • Assist in with generating BOL’s for loads
  • Assist in generating certificates of analysis for product orders
  • Review daily appointment schedules and preparation of orders as available
  • Contact customer service and/or logistics to modify/troubleshoot orders when required
  • Monitor and be responsible for accurate finished goods inventories including cycle counting, reworked product, rejected product, re-class and write-offs.
  • On Call Weekends and overtime as required
  • Relieve the operations supervisor when required
  • Backfill for Quality Coordinator/Storeroom Receiver as required(during time off or high demand)

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Some college and/or business training courses preferred.
  • 1-3 years demonstrated, similar experience preferred.
