These building blocks are essential to moving forward as a growth-focused, insights-driven, consumer-led company that will celebrate food and the central part that food plays in our life.The Production Team Leader (Supervisor Level) will provide front line leadership to production operating teams in a fast-paced bakery facility. The Team Leader will lead, motivate and develop employees to achieve outstanding results according to set targets through enhancing teamwork, effective communications, actively listening, and driving change. The Team Leader will also drive accountability and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.SHIFT:Rotating 12 hour shifts of 6:00 am – 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm – 6:00 amRESPONSIBILITIES:Productivity:Use information tools to look for opportunities to improve line efficiency, trends, and drive bakery priorities. Identify and eliminate factors that disrupt a smooth rhythm of operations. Lead smaller scope process improvements to achieve specific measurable goals;Conduct detailed root cause investigations for large deviations from target;Own operational deliverables as assigned within the planning, assessment, installation and testing of new equipment, methods and/or products;Provide assistance in troubleshooting of unplanned breakdowns. Partner with maintenance to prioritize and resource continuous reduction of overall plant downtimeProduction/Delivery:Ensure the required equipment, materials, supplies and manpower are available;Provide leadership necessary to ensure the team meets or exceeds targets;Review and Close Production orders in system. Ensure accurate and timely inventory records are entered into the information system;Safety, Health and Environment:Ensure the required equipment, materials, supplies and manpower are available;Provide leadership necessary to ensure the team meets or exceeds targets;Review and Close Production orders in system. Ensure accurate and timely inventory records are entered into the information system;Food Safety:Ensure product quality and food safety requirements are met through verification of quality checks and lot tracking per HACCP plan;Provide follow up to any customer complaint issuesCost:Review results and respond to issues with appropriate actions;Lead optimization of production equipment and processes needed to meet and exceed downtime and waste targetsPeople:Establish and sustain a positive and cooperative working environment through effective communications with all employees;Provide effective, timely and fair performance and disciplinary feedback to team members and document as needed;Other Duties:Assist as needed in interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new employees;Verify and maintain attendance records. Review and address attendance issues;Resource shifts and ensure availability for rotating shifts including weekends in a 24/7 environment;Coordinate shipping schedule and documentation requirements (where there is no Shipping Supervisor role);Liaise with maintenance team on changeover and work order scheduling;ABOUT YOU:Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment, & minimum 2 years’ experience in a Lead Hand or Supervisory role;Experience with OSHA regulations, HACCP and Food GMPs (in a bakery environment preferred);A good grasp of inventory management (cycle counting, materials management, etc.);Conduct work with integrity, abiding and upholding the Code of Conduct and Company Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Commitment, Courage and Growth);Ability to anticipate what needs to be done & commits to take ownership to ensure it gets done;Demonstrated ability to multitask and work with urgency in a fast-paced production environment;Ability to organize and delegate work, using Leader Standard Work approach to hold others accountable for results;Willingness to learn and apply new skills, and teach others by sharing knowledge to grow self and the business;Courage to challenge the status quo, lead & embrace changes and decisions that drive progress;Must have a continuous improvement mindset to identify improvement opportunities, utilize data and disciplined processes to make decisions, and track and measure results;Must be an effective communicator who inspires and motivates, and creates an environment for open and trusting 2-way communication with all levels in the organization;Ability to collaborate with various functional leads to gain alignment and consensus on issues;Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook and experience with ERP/BPCS systems);Strong understanding of sanitation, food handling, and food safety practices in a manufacturing environment preferred;Weston is committed to fostering a work environment with strong core values that support diversity through various policies, programs and activities that encourage sensitivity and accommodations.
