What We’re Looking For:Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-year experience working directly with children, or in a childcare setting with school-aged children.
• Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent qualifications, such as a Childamp; Youth Worker, OCT – Teacher, or Recreationamp; Leisure diploma.

Certifications:

• Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations

Skillsamp; Knowledge:

• Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen (an asset)
• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and evaluate activities that support children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children in your care at all times.
• Create and maintain an engaging, warm, and welcoming environment for children and families.
• Conduct daily check-ins and documentation according to Ministry of Education requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty and maintain professional relationships.
