Job TitleEnergy Project ManagerJob Description SummaryEnergy Project Manager Activities to include the following tasks:

  • Perform ASHRAE Level I & ASHRAE Level II Energy Audits in existing buildings nationally
  • Perform Decarbonization studies for buildings nationally
  • Provide ongoing consulting around energy management and efficiency to buildings nationally
  • Develop in-house commissioning practice and perform Retro-Commissioning of HVAC and Building Automation systems in existing buildings
Job DescriptionEnergy Assessments, Audits, and Decarbonization StudiesUnderstand common HVAC systems and emerging high-performance alternativesReview ARCH and MEP drawings for existing systemsLead development of energy savings strategies and spreadsheet calculations for existing building retrofitsIdentify energy saving and carbon reduction opportunities and make recommendations to achieve more energy efficient operationsProvide consultation to clients or other engineers on topics such as climate control systems, energy modeling, data logging, energy management control systems, lighting or daylighting design, sustainable design, and energy auditingUnderstand energy efficiency and sustainability local laws and associated requirements for various cities and states, including but not limited to NYC, Boston, DC, Chicago, Saint Louis, Denver, California, and PhiladelphiaSupport the capabilities of Cushman & Wakefield and managed buildings to apply for utility or other local incentivesProvide written technical and non-technical reports for program compliance and ownership reviewReview energy savings calculations of others for correctness and for adherence to incentive and clean energy financing program rules.Train Entry Level staff members when applicableEnergy ModelingPerform energy models using eQuest or other softwareSupport the capabilities for Cushman & Wakefield to complete energy modelingTrain Entry Level staff members when applicableCommissioning/Retro-CommissioningLead the initial development of an in-house commissioning service offering within Cushman & Wakefield, including procedures and documentationWork with owners and O&M personnel to assist them in developing OPR documents.Create and QC commissioning documents – e.g. Cx plans, test plans, Systems Manuals, and final reports.Lead commissioning meetings (design, construction, controls coordination) and issue minutes.Create commissioning specifications and work with the AE of Record to incorporate commissioning requirements into the project documents.Create customized Pre-Functional Checklists and Functional Performance Tests.Conduct site observation visits, witness systems startups, and issue field reports.Document, track, and facilitate resolution of commissioning issues.Review startup and testing reports including TAB and NETA.Coordinate execution of, and review construction (pre-functional) checklistsCoordinate, direct, and document Functional Performance Tests.Mentor less experienced commissioning personnel, and train them on the commissioning process.Work with O&M personnel to help them understand the systems and equipment that are being commissioned and how the equipment is designed to operate as a system.Desired QualificationsFour-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution.At least five years of commissioning experience and at least five-years working with Building Automation Systems for buildings.Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credentialsAt least one of the following commissioning certifications:Certified Commissioning Provider (CCP) from the Building Commissioning Association (BCA).Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) from the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG).Experience leading commissioning teams and projects.Experience with commissioning estimates, proposals, and salesExperience with EQuest or other modeling softwareAbility to Travel up to 12 days per monthAbility to work productively from home and to have a home environment conducive to participating in,and leading meetings.Experience in programming controls and troubleshooting control systems (BAS, SCADA, HMI, …)The following qualifications are also desirable, but not critical:Net Zero ExperienceProfessional Engineer licenseCushman & Wakefield provides equal employment opportunity.
