Job Description

We are looking for additional Chainsaw Operators to join our Utility Line Clearing and Harvesting crews. Training will be provided to all new hires on safe operation of Chainsaws, WHIMIS, and Standard First Aid.Chainsaw Operators work in the following roles:

  • Felling, Delimbing, and Bucking of Trees.
  • Clearing around powerline corridors.
  • Selective Harvesting and Thinning operations.
  • Working around Heavy Equipment.
  • Supporting Mowing and Harvesting operations
  • Ensuring they work in a safe manner in line with company safety policies
  • Work in a team of chainsaw operators to accomplish company and project objectives
Working Conditions:
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Handling Heavy Loads
  • Walking, Bending, Kneeling
  • Team Environment
  • Forest and Utility Corridor Environments
Qualifications:
  • No Experience Required
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Nova Scotia Forest Safety Society Chainsaw Training considered an Asset
  • Nova Scotia Class 5 drivers license considered an Asset.
  • Work experience in forest environments considered an Asset.
