Job Description

We love what we do, and we are always seeking enthusiastic talent to join our team.As our Field Service Technician - Fire Protection you will be responsible for a wide variety of in-field fire services such as installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, and servicing fire protection equipment and/or systems at commercial, industrial, and institutional sites. Some of the additional expectations of this role include:

  • Complete semi-annual inspections and necessary repairs to various fire protection equipment and/or systems;
  • Service, install or inspect additional or unlisted pieces of equipment as required;
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals;
  • Evaluating code, and non-conformance issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management;
  • Preparing stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimizing material utilization;
  • Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities;
  • Ensuring safe work practices are followed safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job; and
  • Participating in 24/7 on-call/call out emergency service when requested.
Our preferred candidate would possess the following qualifications however combinations of education and experience will be considered:
  • Experience in fire services and/or 2+ years’ in-field work experience as a technician/tradesperson in any industry;
  • Kitchen suppression system and/or fire alarm experience would be considered an asset;
  • Diploma in a fire protection or mechanical trade;
  • Fire service certifications or OEM training certiications
Note: Candidates who advance through the hiring process will be required to submit a current Certificate of Conduct and Driver’s Abstract.The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with a keen attention to detail and the ability to safely execute high quality work on-time, every time. They will bring good communication and customer service skills, with an ability to work both with team members, as well as independently, to deliver high quality service and support to our customers. Given the service focus of our business, you will also be able to demonstrate problem-solving skills and an ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities. A mechanical aptitude and a continuous learning mindset, including the willingness to use/learn technology solutions in the execution of your work is a must. You must also possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to and work out of remote client sites.
