Financial Analyst, Reporting & Control - 13 month term appointmentSt. Francis Xavier University is a top-ranking Canadian university seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Financial Services team for a 13 month term position. Reporting to the Manager of Finance & Control, the Financial Analyst will perform tasks supporting financial accounting, reporting and analysis, internal controls and other initiatives. This is a full time (temporary) position, working 37.5 hours/week. Salary commensurate with experience.Key Responsibilities:Assist with preparation of annual financial reports, including the University financial statements, tax returns, and other external financial reportsAssist with financial accounting functions and annual auditPerform monthly reconciliations, including for the University's primary bank accountWork with the Financial Reporting team on other initiatives to improve business processes and financial informationQualifications and Skills:University degree and CPA designation3 to 5 years of relevant finance experience; experience in corporate finance or auditStrong computer literacy and familiarity with Excel, Office 365Strong analytical skills with good understanding of accounting principles and technologyStrong organizational and time management skillsResults oriented, pro-active professionalEffective communication skillsExperience with Fund Accounting Principles, CICA guidelines for not-for-profit, external audits, or analytical tools such as Cognos BI would be an assetA review of applications will begin on Monday, June 14th.
