Information Technology Services DepartmentProfessional Staff GroupRegular Full-TimeClassification: Non-union/Professional Band ESalary Rate: $62,614-76,498OverviewThe Team Lead, IT Operations is responsible for leading a team of analysts and administrators in designing, implementing, and maintaining mission critical networks and systems that support the goals of the universitys computing requirementsKey Responsibilities

  • Works with manager to identify, scope, plan, resource, and schedule short and long-term technology infrastructure priorities.
  • Provides technical guidance to a team of analysts administrators in supporting critical technology infrastructure.
  • Coordinates with Team Lead IT Security on operational priorities and changes related to implementing patches/fixes/upgrades to address security issues.
  • Works with university external partners including government organizations, higher-ed groups, private consultants as required to support the universitys technology infrastructure.
  • Identifies professional development opportunities for operations team to increase skills and effectively achieve established goals.
  • Leads design implementation of university infrastructure technologies.
  • Works with internal IT resources, external partners and vendors on the planning, installation, configuration, maintenance, and documentation of a variety of technologies that may include networks, server operating systems, specialized appliances, applications, enterprise databases, and related systems and services which support the universitys technology services.
  • Works with team to ensure effective data recovery - using internal staff and external contractors, assists with ensuring backup and restore capabilities are always functional, that systems and data are recoverable in the event of a data loss.
  • Ensures team is following configuration management and hardening standards for servers, network devices, etc.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years progressive experience in IT systems and/or network administration.
  • Strong work ethic and proven success working in a team environment.
  • Supervisory experience in an IT organization would be considered a significant asset.
  • Experience in a University environment is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
