This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.ResponsibilitiesThe OR Supply Tech is responsible for preparing OR items for each case, checking the case carts to ensure all supplies and items are available, ordering inventory and special stock, arranging for equipment to be repaired and liaising with OR/MDR throughout the day to ensure supplies and equipment are available for emergency cases. Responsible for requisitioning, maintenance and control of surgical supplies, equipment and instruments and for related functions that contribute to the indirect care of surgical patients.QualificationsSuccessful completion of Grade XII requiredDiploma in Business Administration or Supply Chain Logistics, or minimum one year related experience required (including working within budgets and inventory management)Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications for Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook requiredDemonstrated proficiency in SAP material management module and inventory control is preferredKnowledge of OR supplies, instruments, inventory control and workflow preferredKnowledge of how to generate, coordinate and track purchase orders is preferredDemonstrated ability to work in a fast paced work environmentExcellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to maintain a polite, courteous and pleasant attitude towards patients, staff and co-workersDemonstrated ability to function well as a team member requiredPrevious work attendance may be consideredThe successful applicant will have a commitment to the mission and values of the Nova Scotia Health AuthorityThe successful applicant will have a commitment to the mission and values of St. Martha’s Regional HospitalCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferredPLEASE NOTE: Applicants relying on education and experience equivalencies must clearly state such equivalencies in their cover letter, resume, or application.
