Job Description

Scott and Stewart Forestry is looking to hire Traffic Control Personnel and Temporary Workplace Signers in Eastern Nova Scotia. This position requires the regulation of traffic at temporary workplaces to keep the area safe for workers and motorists.This position will fill the following roles:

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with company safe work procedures.
  • Responsible to participate in the planning, setup, and maintenance of traffic control in a temporary workplace.
  • Completion of daily safety briefings and hazard assessments
  • Maintain communication with the worksite.
  • Working around Heavy Equipment.
  • Supporting Construction, Mowing, and Harvesting Operations
  • Ensuring they work in a safe manner in line with company safety policies
  • Work in a team of to accomplish company and project objectives
Working Conditions:
  • Working outdoors
  • Handling Heavy Loads
  • Walking, Bending, Kneeling
  • Team Environments
  • Working on the road across Nova Scotia
  • Travel required Monday - Friday
Qualifications:
  • 1-5 Years Experience in traffic control setup, constructions, or working around heavy equipment
  • Traffic control training and certification
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Nova Scotia Forest Safety Society Chainsaw Training considered an Asset
  • Nova Scotia Class 5 drivers license considered an Asset.
  • Work experience in forest environments considered an Asset.
