We operate hospitals, health centres and community-based programs across the province. Our team of health professionals includes employees, doctors, researchers, learners and volunteers that provide the health care or services you may need. This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the general cleaning of specific areas such as clinical areas, laboratory and laundry areas, patient rooms, washrooms, corridors, cafeteria, kitchen, public areas and offices. Maintain floor surfaces using dry and damp mopping techniques and vacuuming carpets. Responsible for using and maintaining flood machines and auto-scrubbers, scrubbing, waxing and buffing of floor surfaces. As well, washing, dusting of beds, furnishings, utensils and equipment as per established procedures.Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 10.
  • Ability to operate housekeeping equipment.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive duties.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Must be able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in a health care setting would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of floor care program an asset.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and privacy of NSH patients and clients.
  • Annually access the training and education on patient, client and personal safety.
  • Commitment to maintain and protect patient, client, and personal safety on an ongoing basis.
  • The successful applicant will have a commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
