Job Description

Lucas Tree Experts, a leader in the tree care industry, is looking for a motivated individual to join the team as a Work Planner in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.Primary duties include obtaining necessary permission from and supplying proper notification to homeowners before beginning project work. This may be accomplished by going door to door, by telephone or email for customer interaction, engagement and documentation.Experience in the tree industry or utility planning and permissions is preferred. This is a full time, year-round, position with overtime availability. Duties include: Ensuring good public relations and a positive company image at all times. Coordinating with property owners, utility customers, and the operations of the company. Making necessary contacts with utility customer representatives to ensure projects stay on schedule. Ensuring compliance with established safety policies and procedures.REQUIREMENTS:Must be highly organized and punctual.Must be able to accept responsibility and meet deadlines.Must be professional with strong communication skills.Must be willing and able to travel and drive for long periods of time.Must be able to work 40 hours weekly and overtime as required.Must be 18 years of age with a High School Diploma/GED/or equivalent.Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.Must have a current and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.Must pass the Electrical Hazards Appropriate Operating Procedures (EHAP) tests within 30 days from date of hire.Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of tree trimming and removal operations.Must have experience performing Tree Hazard Risk Assessments with knowledge of tree identification.Must be willing and able to obtain, and maintain licenses & certifications as required by the position in order to grow your career (this is paid for by Lucas Tree Experts).Must be able to successfully complete a post offer physical & drug screen as well as a background and motor vehicle check.Successful professionals at Lucas Tree Experts have come from a variety of backgrounds, including: Utility Line Clearance, Integrated Vegetation Management, Arboriculture, Field Operations Management, Supervisor, Environmental Studies, Horticulture, Arborist, Forestry, Off-Road, Natural Resource Management, Storm Restoration, and Landscape Maintenance.Lucas Tree Experts offers paid, hands-on, on-the-job training, paid educational courses for advancement in the industry.
