Company DescriptionPRT operates a diverse network of 19 nurseries in Canada and the United States enabling us to grow a wide variety of high-quality container forest seedlings for all climatic and site conditions. Annual production of 335 million seedlings makes PRT the largest producer of containerized forest seedlings in North America. We produce trees for customers from British Columbia to Ontario and Michigan to Alabama to Oregon.Job DescriptionLove what you do:PRT is the largest commercial-scale containerized growing provider in North America for a wide range of forestry seedling species. Be part of a family of people that grows trees for our future forests! PRT has capacity to grow and sell more than 320 million baby trees annually, across its 19 nursery locations, in 4 provinces and 3 states.As our Payroll Manager you are responsible for ensuring that all payroll processes are in compliance with various collective agreements, internal policy and procedure, state provincial and federal legislation. QualificationsWhat you need for this position with PRT:The ideal candidate will have:
  • Progressive experience in a high volume, Canadian and USA payroll management role
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance and procedures including, CRA, Canadian and US labour laws and employment standards in North America (by state or province)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, and Outlook, and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills and demonstrated experience developing and leading teams
  • Experience with HRIS systems required
  • Post-Secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance
  • Completion of a professional designation in Canada such as PCP or CPM, and the US such as FPC or CPP or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
