Job Description

SALES ASSOCIATE JOB DESCRIPTION With a mission to help connect people with the activities they love and the places they adventure to go, the SalesAssociate position is a key member of the sales floor team.Essential to this position is someone that upholds our corporate values of Community, Trust, Sustainability andRelationships in all aspects of their position. The Sales Associate creates a welcoming shopping experience by greeting customers in a warm and friendly manner and is equipped with strong product and industry knowledge to confidently assist with recommendations of products for their needs.The Sales Associate provides timely customer service and retail support in accordance with all company policies, guidelines and protocols.The Sales Associate is responsible for the following key areas:Customer Service

  • Proactively anticipates customer needs and prioritizes them over other tasks
  • Ensures that customers can find everything they need and provides options for special orders
  • Maximizes sales opportunities to support the achievement of company goals
  • Stays up-to-date on all new arrivals, product information and store promotions
  • Answers phone calls, product inquiries and processes special order requests
  • Assists with daily opening and closing procedures
  • Efficiently and accurately processes in-store and over the phone sales transactions in the point of sale system
  • Processes unique transactions such as returns and gift cards in alignment with store policies
Cleaning, Merchandising and Inventory
  • Routinely cleans and organizes the store to ensure a safe, comfortable and convenient shopping experience
  • Replenishes stock on the floor as needed
  • Creates or takes down merchandise displays
  • Assists with store signage related to promotions and events
  • Ensures that all price changes are implemented, as requested
  • Reconciles new inventory with special orders and contacts customers with updates about orders
  • Supports inventory reconciliation.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Other customer service, sales, inventory and cleaning related tasks as needed for daily operations
  • Specific task lists are attached for each position.
Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year retail customer service experience, including cash handling
  • Understanding of the sales environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with point-of-sale platforms, internet research and email programs
  • Clean criminal history
  • Provision of at least two (2) employment related references that provide a satisfactory review
  • Restricted Firearms Possession and Acquisition License (R.P.A.L.) *required for some positions
