POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for working in a fleet-based environment on both long term and short-term preventative maintenance mechanical applications on public transit passenger buses.WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Show interest in learning all aspects of heavy bus mechanical and refurbishment repair.
  • Learn through hands-on experience and take guidance from experienced tradespeople.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians to ensure safe and high-quality work, following company policies.
  • Work closely with the shop supervisor to meet deadlines and maintain workflow.
  • Assist in pre and post work inspections to uphold quality and installation standards.
  • Be punctual, professional, and maintain a positive attitude for efficient workplace operations.
  • Build good relationships while staying focused during meetings.
  • Keep the workshop organized and clean to ensure a productive environment.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Must possess a desire to learn and eventually become proficient in the 310T Mechanical trade by means of apprenticeship.
  • New apprentice mechanic or up to level 4 apprentice mechanic.
  • Mechanical repairs involving all operational systems for a transit bus or highway coach.
  • Must be able to work well independently and/or as part of a team and have the willingness to learn.
  • Experience is an asset but not required.
