Job Description

The Maintenance Electrician will apply their theoretical understanding and practical knowledge of operations, repair procedures troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to support facility operations in Aylmer and London in the future.   • Applies theoretical understanding and practical knowledge of operations, repair procedures, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to support facility equipment reliability
  • Inspect electrical equipment on a routine basis
  • Planning of shutdown work to maximize equipment utilization
  • Follow a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule
  • Supervising and assisting contractors for all maintenance related activities as required
  • Assistance with project management of new equipment or facility expansion
  • Will work in coordination with the Maintenance Technicians
  • Oversees and maintains support and production equipment including air compressor, heaters, chillers, pumps, extractors, distillation equipment, HVAC
  • Assists with general facility maintenance internal and external to production areas
  • Sets front-line performance standards providing coaching and feedback to build capability and improve performance
  • Other duties as required by the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Ability to be on-call on weekends
Qualifications
  • An Ontario or Inter-Provincial (442A/309A/Red Seal) Electrician Certificate of Qualification is required
  • Demonstrated experience with VFD and industrial automation to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Mechanically inclined and ability to manage projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross functional team members
  • Demonstrated interest in learning and applying new mechanical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and working conditions
  • Organized and process driven, ensuring proper and prompt documentation and attention to detail
  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment, spare parts and risk mitigation
  • Strong planning, analytical, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills, excellent time management and problem solving skills
