Job Description

Job SummaryA West Island construction company is currently seeking a bookkeeper/office administrator. The position will report directly to the President. The role plays a vital part in the bookkeeping, administration and smooth-running of the business, being involved with the management, coordination and implementation of all office procedures. References will be required. Candidates to this position MUST have considerable experience in each of the following;Responsibilities: · management of accounts payable;· management of accounts receivable, including the invoicing and collection process;· experience processing payroll through external electronic payroll system;· involved in the expense reports process;· involved in monthly closing and related reconciliations;· involved in year-end closing procedures coordinated with external accountant;· providing administrative assistance in all aspects of the day-to-day business operations and for the execution of multiple construction projects;· maintain professional communications with clients, employees, professionals, suppliers and subcontractors;· dealing with telephone and email inquiries;· strict up to date maintenance of electronic and hard copy filing systemsSkills & Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a very thorough knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping and office administration, is comfortable working independently and is a skilled multi-tasker. Initiative is required. This position requires someone who is precise and pays strict attention to detail, is meticulous and extremely organized. Experience working in and knowledge of the construction industry is also considered very beneficial.· must be proficient in Simply Accounting· must have strong experience with G Suite (Google Sheets, Docs)· proficient in Microsoft Office, more specifically Microsoft Excel· strong organizational skills and attention to detail;· the ability to plan your own work, work on your own initiative and meet deadlines;· the ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands and prioritize tasks and workload;· bilingual (written & oral)Please submit a cover letter along with your resume.
