Bus Attendant / Playground MonitorCOMPETITION #07-087There is a position available for a Bus Attendant/Playground Monitor at Baldonnel Elementary School. Applications must be completed online and will be accepted until 12:00pm noon on September 27, 2022.Reporting to the site Administrative Officer(s), this position is responsible for monitoring the safety, activities and behaviour of bus students while they are waiting for school to open after being discharged from the bus, or waiting for the school bus to arrive after being dismissed from school.Hours of Work: 1 hour per day, 5 days per weekDuties to Commence: October 3, 2022Work Base Year: 10 MonthsCommencing Salary: $21.65/hr.Duties to be assigned include:Maintains student discipline and reports any problems to the site Administrative Officer(s).Monitors students in the playground and on the playground equipment.Provides basic first aid and comfort to injured students and reports any injuries to the site Administrative Officer(s).Reports any unauthorized persons on the school grounds to the site Administrative Officer(s).Assists in the orderly boarding and discharging of bus students.Ensures as much as possible that no bus students are left behind.Performs other job related duties as directed by the site Administrative Officer(s).Qualifications:Grade 10 or equivalency2 years training and/or recent experience (within 5 years) working with school aged children preferredAbility to work independently and set prioritiesWHMIS Certificate and other online safety training provided by the District to be completed within the probationary periodGood interpersonal skills and the ability to be an integral part of a teamMust be able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Search conducted by the District prior to starting employmentPlease Note: Proof of graduation and or highest level of education is required prior to starting workFor more information please contact:Christine Todd, Principal at (250) 789-3396 or via email at ctodd@prn.bc.ca.All applications must be made through Make A Future website for consideration for the position.
