Job Description

We’re seeking a Bar Supervisor to join us at Hello Sunshine! A Banff sushi restaurant with private karaoke rooms! Our retro space features eye-catching fire tables, a sushi bar, groovy décor and all the good vibes. Menu highlights include shareable bar bites, sushi, maki rolls, ramen, and crispy fried dishes paired with handcrafted cocktails, sake and Japanese whiskey. Want to know more Check us out here: https://www.hellosunshinebanff.com/ The Bar Supervisor contributes to the success of Banff Hospitality Collective by supporting the Bar Manager and overseeing the operations of the bar, managing inventory based on demand and cost targets. Maintaining stock, avoiding extra carrying costs, and ensuring the bar is run in a smooth manner with focused priority on safety, drink quality, hospitality, and leadership are the primary responsibilities of the position.We Love Perks! What You’ll Do:
  • Sharing your knowledge is a must! You #39;ll be training and coaching bartenders, and building server product knowledge
  • Lead by example. Working alongside the bartenders, focusing on hospitality and positivity
  • Manage inventory and oversee timely ordering, receiving, and invoicing
  • Assist with creating and maintaining a drinks menu that is well-suited to the food menu, and evolves seasonally and with trends
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of the bar area
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/provincial/local laws, and ordinances
  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including bar cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards

What You Have:
  • Passion and knowledge of mixology, and how to make traditional cocktails and create new ones

  • Understanding of the importance of communication and workplace culture
  • Collaborative working style and team focus
  • Ability to work with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible schedule required
  • Strong work ethic and a positive team player
  • Supervisory or management experience is considered an asset
  • ProServe certification required
  • Bartending experience is required
