What will be your daily pursuit:welcome all Gondola guests at both the lower and upper terminalsWhat perks can you expect:Work in a dynamic, culturally diverse team from around the globeSeasonal work experience in an iconic, unforgettable, and inspiring locationFast-paced and active position – get your step counter ready!The chance to work in an inclusive culture and make life-long friendsOpportunities for career growth or future work at other Pursuit locationsAccess to one of the world’s most beautiful and iconic National ParksWhat will you do in this job:Welcomes all Banff Gondola guests both at the Lower and Upper TerminalAssists with ticket sales, combo packages, questions, directions, and guidance in visiting our attractions and the Canadian RockiesUses a computerized ticketing system to issue and process guest ticketsHandles cash and credit transactionsValidates tickets prior to boardingHelps with the management of traffic flow throughout the lower and upper terminal buildingsProvides value-added guest experience piece to visitors of the Banff GondolaSolicits guest feedbackBecomes knowledgeable and answers questions regarding the Gondola offerings and Pursuit offeringsLearns to answer questions on topics related to the surrounding area, wildlife and local human historyParticipates in programs and/or assist guest speakers during special programs or eventsAdheres to the company values:Acknowledges that safety of both staff and guests is paramount to creating a positive experience for both (Safety first)Honors place by maintaining cleanliness of the areas, ensuring wildlife is not approached or fed, showing respect to colleagues (Honour place)Anticipates our guest needs by asking them if they require assistance, directing them to restrooms, restaurants, outside and inside areas and attractions, giving them a brief idea of the offerings and setting their expectations as well as taking their picturesBrings their best to work every day by being engaged and positiveAssists in Health and Safety and Green Team initiativesEnsures a memorable Guest ExperienceWhat skills and experience do you need for this job:The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:A high level of customer service and experience in guest services, or similarAttention to detail and good communication and listening skills with local and international guests and staffPassion for making a difference for each guestFriendly personality and cooperative natureAbility to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgement, while remaining calm under pressureFluent in English, both written and spokenSecond language skills highly advantageousInitiative to walk up to guests and engage with themStrong communication skills towards customers and supervisorsAutonomy to work unsupervised, report observations to supervisorsCreativity and willingness to improve guest experienceSolid knowledge of the products and services available in Banff and its surroundingsAccuracy and efficiency in handling large amounts of cash ($CAD and $US) and debit/credit transactions under fast-paced and busy conditionsWork in a fast-paced environment and overcome guest objectionsPhysical demands including constant use of hands, repetitive actions and speaking, sitting/standing for long periods of time, frequent bending/twisting and working outdoorsCapable of performing demanding physical/manual duties as requiredMeet Pursuit's grooming standardsFirst Aid certification are an assetTo honor our commitment to be “Always Honest” all employees must consent to a criminal record checkThank you for your interest in working with us, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.What will your work environment be like:This fun, summer job runs from June through to September or October 2021.Beautiful.
