What will you do in this job:Provide value-added guest experience piece to visitors of the Banff Gondola’s Upper TerminalEngage guests by welcoming them and asking them if they require assistanceIf you see a guest taking a photo of their family, ask them if they’d like you to capture a photo with them also includedAnticipating our guest needs is key in elevating the experienceLocated on different levels of the building and are require to roam, identifying opportunities to engage with the guestsWelcome all guests on the different levels in the Upper Terminal’s (especially on the 1st level when getting off the Gondola ride)Direct guests to restrooms, restaurants, board walk, Sanson’s Peak, Observation Deck, retail locations, interpretive floor and movie theatre, Gondola ride down, etcAssist guests in picture takingBecome knowledgeable and answer questions regarding the Gondola offerings and Pursuit offeringsHelp with the management of traffic flow throughout the buildingAnswer questions on topics related to the Canadian Rockies, including geology, wildlife and local human history, (it is expected that the Guides will keep a personal interest in staying informed about these topics over the duration of their contract)Participate in programs and/or assist guest speakers during special programs or eventsMaintain cleanliness of the areasEnsure a memorable Guest ExperienceAssist in Health and Safety initiativesWork with the Upper Terminal Ticket desk to ensure consistent delivery of informationWhat skills and experience do you need for this job:The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:A high level of customer service is paramount, along with attaining a high level of knowledge of the Banff Gondola, its interpretive stations, and the unique natural features and habitat of the areaComfortable speaking to large groups in formal settings, as well as one-on-one in informal situationsInitiative to walk up to guests and engage with themFriendly and cooperative natureStrong communication skills towards customers and supervisorsAutonomy to work unsupervised, report observations to supervisorsCreativity and willingness to improve guest experienceDemonstrate attention to detailMature, energetic, dependable, self-motivated, and enjoy working within a team environmentAbility to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgement, while remaining calm under pressureAbility to deliver interpretive information as per Pursuit standards and as learned during trainingFluent in English, both written and spokenCapable of performing demanding physical/manual duties as requiredMeet Pursuit's grooming standardsEnjoy working indoor and outdoor and maintaining high service standards even during inclement weather conditionsPrevious guiding experience, second language and First Aid certification are an assetTo honour our commitment to be “Always Honest” all employees must consent to a criminal record checkThank you for your interest in working with us, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.What will your work environment be like:Full time and part time positions availableFestival shifts are from 5:30 - 10:30pm
