Job Description

Job DetailsDescriptionWe have an immediate opening for an Insurance Advisor to join our Commercial Insurance team working in our office in Southern Alberta.Summary:Provide front-line sales and customer service for small to Mid-Market Commercial Insurance accounts.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sell commercial insurance policies
  • Develop and maintain a prospect list
  • Build and maintain excellent customer relationships, including visiting customer sites
  • Keep abreast of market knowledge, products, and pricing issues and opportunities
  • Prepare proposals, and arrange for account placement with the insurance carriers
  • Gather and document relevant information to ensure the customer receives the appropriate coverages and service
  • Maintain good quality in the book of business by adhering to underwriting rules and good business practices
  • Arrange payment terms for new business sales and the timely collection of payments
  • Support customers with the claims process
  • Service on-going client needs of established book of business; advising on insurance matters; conduct needs assessment; recommend solutions; answer inquires; process renewals
Skills and Experience:
  • 2+ years of commercial lines experience is an asset
  • Minimum High School Diploma with Post-Secondary Education preferred
  • General Insurance License Level II
  • Ideally have one or more of CIP, FCIP, CAIB or CCIB
  • Working knowledge of Agency Manager (TAM) is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Policy Works is an asset
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • High degree of professionalism, diplomacy and integrity
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and deadlines
