Job Description

It is our mandate to promote from within and facilitate both personal and professional growth and development.ScopeThe Concierge provides a superior level of service to all guests and visitors of the Hotel through responding to questions, sharing information about the Hotel and the local area, assisting with special requests, and making reservations for services or attractions.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer questions, share information, and provide assistance in a friendly, proactive, and efficient manner.
  • Assist guests with making reservations for Hotel or outside services with appropriate follow-up as necessary.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the layout of the Hotel, its outlets, and services.
  • Build an extensive knowledge of local restaurants, shops, attractions, transportation options, and airports.
  • Build and maintain a positive and professional relationship with vendors and merchants.
  • Share pertinent information regarding partners and vendors to managers and guests on a daily basis.
  • Acting as a liaison between the guest and departments within the Hotel.
  • Provide pre-arrival support for guests arriving with special requests.
  • Maintain inventory and stock of supplies, brochures, and collateral for Concierge desk.
  • Complete any duty or responsibility of the Bellhops as needed.
  • Provides direction to Bellhops as required.
  • Other responsibilities or duties as assigned by the Lead Concierge or management team.
Physical Demands
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent use of a computer and telephone
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 pounds / 10 kg
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
  • Occasional sitting
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Post secondary education in Hospitality or Tourism is an asset
  • 2 years of professional experience in guest services, front desk, or a related area
  • Excellent knowledge of the Bow Valley including local attractions, restaurants, bars and nightlife, and services
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license or International Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract
  • Basic math skills and computer literate
  • Customer-service oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Creates a motivating work environment and leads by example
  • Able to work unsupervised and to make quick, responsible decisions when required
  • Able to interact with all guests and visitors with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong organizing and follow-through skills
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
