Job Description

It is our mandate to promote from within and facilitate both personal and professional growth and development.ScopeEnsuring all public and staff areas of the hotel are cleaned and serviced to 4 Diamond standards.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of public and staff areas according to Hotel standards, including washrooms, stairwells, lobby, and restaurants.
  • Replenish supplies and amenities in public and staff washrooms, communicating inventory needs to the Housekeeping Office Supervisor.
  • Report maintenance problems in public areas immediately to Housekeeping Office Supervisor or through a service order.
  • Operate hard surface flooring and carpet cleaning equipment including heavy equipment such as a tomcat, carpet extractor, etc.
  • Participate in large deep cleaning projects in public spaces.
  • Be knowledgeable in Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, and PPE and the safe use of housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment for both guests and staff.
  • Be familiar with hotel facilities and knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
  • Ensure hotel security is protected by following the proper procedures.
Physical Demands
  • Significant walking and standing
  • Frequent pushing or pulling of a housekeeping cart weighing up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 31 pounds / 14 kg
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
  • Frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, stretching, and twisting
  • Frequent reaching above and below shoulder height
  • Occasional ascending and descending stairs and ramps
  • Exposure to chemicals or controlled substances
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping experience is an asset
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
  • Excellent communication and organizing skills
  • Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to focus attention on guest needs and to remain calm and courteous at all times
