Through its Refresh Build Buy strategy, Pursuit is continuing its growth trajectory into new iconic locations around the world.What will you do in this job:The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maximizing attraction and associated F&B revenue through daily focus on channel performance and resulting seat usage. This role provides support to Pursuit’s Revenue Maximization (“RevMax”) team and Support Services teams in Marketing, IT and Sales to achieve Pursuit’s objectives. The Inventory Specialist is expected to act as a “Super-User” for attraction point-of-sale systems and to work with IT on continuous system development and improvement. This role oversees quality control for all attraction point-of-sale systems.Work collaboratively with RevMax, Sales, Marketing and Contact Center to create and implement a successful Attraction and F&B inventory channel strategy to maximize attraction revenuesGather schedules from operations, coordinate schedules between departments, present details to IT and monitor ongoing progress and qualityAssist in the creation of attraction Travel Trade products and promotional codesCreate inventory allotments in point-of-sale systemsAudit POS system to ensure accurate loading and application of products and rates for attractionsMaintain rate grids on an ongoing basisAdhere to all data governanceMonitor attraction and Food & Beverage block and block utilization for all Sales Channels ie. FIT, Travel Trade, SightseeingWork with Sales and Central Reservation contact center teams to ensure reporting from partners is timely and accurate and to monitor and optimize blocksSupport Sightseeing Team with Inventory Allocation and Attraction SchedulesUtilize point of sale system oversell function where appropriate and monitor dailyCreate and manage tasks based on an annual business calendar to deliver schedule loads, product loads, rate loads, and block loads in a timely mannerWork closely with IT to generate and maintain reports on pace and inventory utilization, ensuring that there is only “one version of the truth” when viewing data and reportsAct as the point-of-sale system “Super-User,” providing clear communication and training on all processes for new and existing teamsMaintain regular communication with all stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, RevMax, Contact Center, IT and OperationsRegularly provide candid feedback and creative ideas, participating actively in recurring RevMax meetingsManage and maintain a system of quality controls to ensure integrity of reservationsWilling to accept other duties that may arise as the business changes and growsWhat skills and experience do you need for this job:Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in reservations management, tour inventory control, hotel reservations or inventory control or a combination of training and experience that provides equivalent knowledge and abilities.Undergraduate degree in Tourism, Business Administration, Marketing or Accounting preferredExperience working with point of sales systems and property management systems preferredMust have strong knowledge of standard travel industry space blocking practices, commission structures, vendor agreements, and inventory control proceduresStrong time management skills, and ability to prioritize work.Must possess advanced abilities in Microsoft Office tools, especially use of ExcelMust be an excellent communicator, both orally and in writingMust be curious – including a willingness and ability to identify challenges, and to identify and execute workable solutionsMust be a multi-tasker – including the ability to manage multiple projects at one time and to complete projects on expected timelinesMust have the ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside the usual 9-5, Monday-FridayMust be motived - a self-starter who is able to work independentlyMust be willing and able to work collaboratively with other leaders across Pursuit to achieve business goalsMust have willingness and ability to work successfully with strategic partners including, but not limited to:Pursuit RevMax and IT team membersSales, Marketing, Contact Center team membersPursuit Attraction, Hotel, and Culinary operations teamsTravel Trade Contact Center agents and Dispatch teams at all attractionsThis list describes at a high level what this job requires, but no job description can anticipate every single task, issue or project that could come up.
