Job Description

It is our mandate to promote from within and facilitate both personal and professional growth and development.This position is eligible for a bonus on hours worked until October 31, 2022.**Extended medical and dental benefits available after 6 months of full time employment. **ScopeTo support the Housekeeping and Laundry team by ensuring laundry production and quality consistently meets Hotel and 4 Diamond standards.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Wash, dry, iron, and fold all linens in the hotel using commercial laundry equipment, ensuring supply meets demand
  • Pay attention to the quality of laundry linens and report any problems or decline in standards to Management or Laundry Supervisor
  • Report any maintenance problems of machines to Engineering department
  • Record all laundry down-time due to equipment malfunction to Management or Laundry Supervisor
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment for both guests and staff
  • Ensure hotel security is protected by following the proper procedures
  • Be knowledgeable in Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS and PPE
  • Be knowledgeable in hotel emergency procedures
Physical Demands
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Significant bending, reaching below shoulder height, twisting
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds / 7 kg
  • May involve sitting with pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls
  • Requires working in a hot, humid environment
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a laundry department an asset
  • Capable of meeting the physical demands of the position
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout an 8 hour shift
  • Time management skills and the ability to be flexible to changing demands
