Rockies playground, our mountain hideaway is just off the beaten path, in the snowiest place in Canada, between Revelstoke and Golden. In winter we are home to Great Canadian Heli-Skiing, and in summer we play host to adventurous travelers seeking a place to call home while they hike, bike, climb, dine, rest, or mark life with special occasions in our unspoilt alpine wilderness. But no matter the season we pride our selves on delivering endless Best Day Evers to our guests and staff alike!As member of our Hospitality Team at Heather Mountain Lodge, working under the direction of our Operations Manager, you will be part of a respected Team, delivering not just amazing service to our guests, but creating lasting impressions, and building long term relationships with guests and staff alike. Lodge Staff - Server/Housekeeper/Barista positionResponsibilities while serving in our dining room

  • Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
  • Make food and beverage recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages, other restaurant functions and services, and all there is to see and do in our amazing backyard of Glacier National Park and the surrounding communities.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
  • Mix and/or prepare beverages from the bar and prepare coffee to order.
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely matter.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required.
  • Maintain clean service areas.
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable).
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
  • Clearing and resetting tables as needed.
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the lodge manager or immediate supervisor.
Responsibilities while performing housekeeping duties
  • Generally provide excellent customer service
  • Create an upscale ambiance and atmosphere for guests
  • Clean and prepare rooms, to a high standard, for new guest arrivals
  • Maintain guests’ rooms each day
  • Conduct turndown service in each room nightly
  • Fulfill guest requests pertaining to accommodations, such as providing additional blankets
  • Conduct all cleaning duties required in the lodge, including cleaning washrooms, vacuuming, mopping wet floors, etc.
  • Conduct any other duties assigned by the direct manager/supervisor
Job Requirements
  • Previous experience serving and in casual fine dining restaurant is an asset
  • Experience as a Barrista is an asset
  • Experience in housekeeping is an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • This position may include lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work flexible shifts
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Punctuality
