Job Description

What will be your daily pursuit:This role is responsible to drive incremental revenue and profit for Banff Jasper Collection Lodging businesses using a rational, disciplined decision-making process while managing risk under current and anticipated market conditions. This highly collaborative position is key to the development and implementation of effective product, price, inventory and distribution strategies. This position oversees all aspects of revenue and inventory management in all guest channels.This role requires leadership, strong relationship-building abilities, change management skills, creative thinking, and an analytical mind. It requires an ability to successfully communicate rate and product recommendations to Pursuit Leadership Team, Sales Directors and General Managers who must adopt new pricing strategies before they can impact revenue. A new FlyOver attraction in Toronto, ON is anticipated in 2024. May, 2021 brought the grand opening of the Sky Lagoon, a premier oceanfront geothermal lagoon experience near Reykjavik, Iceland. Through its Refresh Build Buy strategy, Pursuit is continuing its growth trajectory into new iconic locations around the world.What will you do in this job:

  • Responsible for the analysis of revenue, profit and demand associated with lodging cluster. This includes pricing, budgets, forecasting and ongoing analysis to support the business in achieving their annual occupancy, ADR, revenue and RevPar goals.
  • Integral in achieving the hotels’ business plan objectives and will be responsible to recognize local and global industry trends, serve as a supply & demand expert, and respond to market changes while maintaining distribution channel price parity
  • Critique the effectiveness of sales strategies, act as a key contributor to the broader team, and will take initiative to drive weekly lodging revenue management meetings
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, RevMax, Sales, Marketing and Contact Center to create and execute a successful lodging channel strategy to maximize revenues
  • Develops and/or utilizes analytical tools and systems toward the goal of maximizing revenue and profit
  • Audit POS system to ensure accurate data is obtained and accurate rates are loaded; adherence to all data governance structures
  • Maintain Master Rate Grids on an ongoing basis
  • Monitor lodging block and block utilization
  • Work with Travel Trade Contact Center agents to ensure reporting from partners is timely and accurate
  • Prepare information to include competitive pricing/positioning, pace, and pick up for review in weekly meetings
  • Assist Sales, Marketing and Contact Center by delivering key statistics when needed
  • Create and manage tasks based on an annual business calendar to deliver schedule loads, product loads, rate loads, and block loads in a timely manner
  • Implement all rate, restriction, and inventory changes in appropriate distribution channels
  • Act as a point-of-sale system “SuperUser,” providing clear communication and training on all processes for new and existing team members
  • Establish optimal marketing mix including performing displacement analysis on all business segments
  • Regularly provide candid feedback and creative ideas, participating actively in recurring meetings
  • Other duties that may arise as the business changes and grows
What skills and experience do you need for this job:The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in reservations management, tour inventory control, hotel reservationsor inventory control or a combination of training and experience that provides equivalent knowledgeand abilities
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in practicing lodging revenue management with seasonal resortexperience a plus
  • Familiarity with hotel systems; Contact Center, Revenue Management Systems, Global Distribution, PMS, andSales and Catering
  • Strong analytical and time management skills, and ability to prioritize work
  • A high degree of organizational skill and attention to detail
  • Possess advanced abilities in Microsoft Office tools, especially use of Excel
  • Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing
  • Curious – including a willingness and ability to identify challenges, and to identify and executeworkable solutions
  • A multi-tasker – including the ability to manage multiple projects at one time and to complete projectson expected timelines
  • Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside the usual 9-5, Monday-Friday
  • Motived - a self-starter who is able to work independently
  • A willingness and ability to work successfully with strategic partners including, but not limited to:
    • Pursuit RevMax and IT team members
    • Sales, Marketing, Contact Center team members
    • Pursuit Attraction, Hotel, and Culinary operations teams
    • Travel Trade Contact Center agents
    • External vendors, suppliers, business partners and agencies
    • Pursuit guests
  • Hybrid opportunity with part time in Banff Jasper Collection office location, part time remote.
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada
  • Successfully complete a background check
What will your work environment be like:
  • This position will be based out of our Support Services offices in either Banff or Jasper, Alberta and part-time remote.
