Job Description

It is our mandate to promote from within and facilitate both personal and professional growth and development.This is a casual/part time position working 2 to 3 days per week, with flexible scheduling available.This position is not eligible for staff accommodation.ScopeThe Concierge provides a superior level of service to all guests and visitors of the Hotel through responding to questions, sharing information about the Hotel and the local area, assisting with special requests, and making reservations for services or attractions.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnswer questions, share information, and provide assistance in a friendly, proactive, and efficient manner.Assist guests with making reservations for Hotel or outside services with appropriate follow-up as necessary.Maintain expert knowledge of the layout of the Hotel, its outlets, and services.Build an extensive knowledge of local restaurants, shops, attractions, transportation options, and airports.Build and maintain a positive and professional relationship with vendors and merchants.Share pertinent information regarding partners and vendors to managers and guests on a daily basis.Acting as a liaison between the guest and departments within the Hotel.Provide pre-arrival support for guests arriving with special requests.Maintain inventory and stock of supplies, brochures, and collateral for Concierge desk.Complete any duty or responsibility of the Bellhops as needed.Provides direction to Bellhops as required.Other responsibilities or duties as assigned by the Lead Concierge or management team.Physical DemandsConstant standing and walkingFrequent use of a computer and telephoneFrequent lifting and carrying up to 22 pounds / 10 kgOccasional lifting up to 50 pounds / 23 kgOccasional sittingQualificationsCompletion of Grade 12 or equivalentPost secondary education in Hospitality or Tourism is an asset2 years of professional experience in guest services, front desk, or a related areaExcellent knowledge of the Bow Valley including local attractions, restaurants, bars and nightlife, and servicesValid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license or International Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstractBasic math skills and computer literateCustomer-service orientedStrong verbal and written communication skillsCreates a motivating work environment and leads by exampleAble to work unsupervised and to make quick, responsible decisions when requiredAble to interact with all guests and visitors with tact and diplomacyStrong organizing and follow-through skillsAvailable to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidaysThank you for your interest in joining our team!
