Job Description

It is our mandate to promote from within and facilitate both personal and professional growth and development.**Extended medical and dental benefits available after completion of 6 months of full time employment.**ScopeTo provide the highest level of guest service by assisting with making reservations, providing information on the hotel and surrounding area, and communicating with all departments within the hotel to ensure guest expectations are exceeded.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable of all Hotel room types, rates, and in-Hotel services
  • Be knowledgeable of all current packages; promotions; and conference, wedding, and tour groups
  • Be familiar with local services and attractions
  • Accept reservations by telephone, email, or fax and enter into the Property Management System, Opera
  • Maintain accurate guest records in Opera
  • Maintain a 24-hour return policy for all correspondence including guest inquiries, rooming lists, and reservation revisions
  • Accept, input and update in-Hotel dining reservations
  • Complete Rates & Favors, special occasions, and arrange special needs
  • Support the Reservations team with completing daily, shift-specific administrative tasks
  • Assist the Front Desk when required
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
  • Constant sitting with occasional standing and walking
  • Constant use of a computer
  • Frequent use of a telephone
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 11 pounds / 5 kg
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience performing administrative work
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and varying work hours
  • Previous hotel experience an asset
  • Strong computer skills with competency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Opera, OpenTable and ALICE is an asset
  • Fluent in English; second language an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail
  • Self-directed and efficient with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent organizing skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Customer-service oriented and motivated to troubleshoot guest problems
