It is our mandate to promote from within and facilitate both personal and professional growth and development.ScopeThe Supervisor will ensure a superior cleaning standard for all flatware, tableware, and kitchen equipment and is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization within our Kitchen, Stewarding, and F&B area.Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and Supervise the Stewarding Team in all aspects of the department and ensure Rimrock standards are followed.Fully understand the safe use and application of chemicals and other hazardous supplies.Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen equipment and other assigned areas in accordance with the Alberta Health Code and Hotel Standards.Train all Stewards and Stewarding Night Cleaners on the safe use of chemicals and appropriate cleaning of kitchen equipment.Ensure dishwashing machines operate at an optimum level with correct temperature and chemicals.Communicate Kitchen and restaurant service needs to Stewarding team throughout the shift and ensure that all requirements are met.Assist Stewarding staff with their job functions when needed to ensure optimum cleanliness and service standards.Stock crockery, glassware, and kitchen equipment in appropriate work stations.Minimize loss and breakage of china, glassware, and silverware.Ensure all breakages and chipped items are removed from circulation and inventoried for warranty.Support the Chief Steward and Assistant Chief Steward in tracking of inventory of china, glassware, silverware and tableware from the outlets and main storage.Assist with chemical and general cleaning supplies order, working within monthly budget.Ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order, reporting any items in need of repair and creating an engineering request.Follow all Hotel and departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.Review all BEOs and ensure all set-ups and supplies are in place for each function.Monitor staffing levels to ensure adequate amount of staff for business levels and functions.Assisting kitchen with plated and buffet functions (plate ups) as needed.Maintain a clean and safe work environment for all associates.Ensure Stewarding area is clean at all times i.e. tables, walls, machines etc.Other related duties as assigned.Physical DemandsConstant standing and walkingFrequent reaching above and below shoulder heightFrequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, scrubbingFrequent lifting, carrying, and stacking items up to 11 pounds / 5 kgOccasional crouching, ascending and descending stairs and rampsOccasional pushing of carts weighing up to 22 pounds / 10 kgOccasional lifting items up to 50 pounds / 23 kgWorking in a hot, humid, noisy environmentExposure to chemicals, fumes, electrical equipment, flames, oil, and dustQualificationsCompletion of Grade 12 or equivalentPost secondary education in hotel or hospitality management is an asset2 years of experience as a Stewarding Supervisor in a busy hotel environmentThorough working knowledge of WHMIS/SDS regulations and guidelinesComfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookStrong communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated leadership and teamwork abilitiesKeen attention to detail and high professional standards, even while under pressurePositive and responsible problem-solverContributes to a motivating work environmentThank you for your interest in joining our team!
