Job Description

RECE for Before and After Program , Split shift with 6-6.5 hours daily6:30 AM startRequirementsRECE and in good standingFirst Aid certificationAble to provide an up to date immunization record as per new Ministry requirements, a clear health and vulnerable sector police check as a condition of employment.Responsibilities:

  • Work with the child care “team” to ensure that the programs are in accordance with the Ministry of Education Early Years Act and the County of Simcoe quality Assurance.
  • Work any shift as required – to be discussed during the interview
  • Develop and implement with your “team” individual and group curriculums school age children incorporating the ELECT and HDLH Framework
  • Ensure that the Program Philosophy and Behaviour Guidance Policies of the Centre is upheld
  • Ability to successfully carry out administrative duties as required
  • Possess the skills and interest towards successfully providing enrichment activities, recreational activities, sports and active games for the Kindergarten and School Age children
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written); highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to co-operate, follow instructions and make difficult decisions; ability to deal with conflict
  • Comfortable in a Team environment that is fast paced and very creative
  • Must be responsive to family and staff needs; have strong problem solving skills; ability to evaluate and ensure that staff develop a program that is consistent with the Centre philosophy
  • Demonstrated ability to work with families in complex situations and from a variety of cultures
  • Skills and interests in creative art, drama, music, science, literacy and numeracy programs
  • A genuine love and commitment towards the Early Childhood Profession and working with young children
