Job Description

A Registered Echocardiography Sonographer is responsible for performing thorough and accurate ultrasound examinations of the heart and supporting structures on inpatients and outpatients in accordance with the standards of practice from the American Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and the Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. The ability to assist with transesophageal, stress echo, pericardiocentesis and contrast.Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Echo Sonographer Program, with clinical component - mandatory
  • Successful completion of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound physics examinations - mandatory
  • Current BCLS - mandatory
  • An active member in good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and the Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals
Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Registered Echocardiography Technologist
