Job Description

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the Client Services Supervisor will be responsible for providing clinical, and quality improvement support as well as implementation of agency policies, procedures and initiatives to programs in Simcoe region. The Client Services Supervisor will be a member of the Simcoe management team.Our standard terms and conditions of employment include a work arrangement of being in the office 5 days a week. Kinark has recently introduced a new benefit that gives employees the opportunity to work their role in a hybrid or fully remote arrangement, as assessed for their position, for those who wish to opt-in for this benefit. The role of Client Services Supervisor has been positionally assessed in the ‘Roamer’ classification, defined as 3 days in office per week and as eligible for a Compressed Work Week.Duties & Responsibilities (are not limited to):

  • Clinical Supervision: ensure all clinical services provided are compliant with the organization’s clinical practices, policies/procedures, legislation, licensing and regulatory requirements by having interactions with staff regarding assessing and/or providing clinical needs and treatment plans, reviewing and/or approving clinical documentation and providing consultation and development of clinical skills to employees.
  • Coach staff to develop clinical competency in CBT through regular supervision based on collaboratively identified goals, tape review and provide feedback using the Competency Based Supervision Model (CBSM) framework
  • Coordinate, support and communicate with other Client Services Supervisors, Live-In Treatment, Day Treatment, Psychiatry, Psychology and Nursing.
  • Recruitment, hiring, onboarding and evaluation of Master’s level clinical therapists.
  • Support the implementation and evaluation of program quality frameworks.
  • Implementation, maintenance and evaluation agency policies, procedures and new initiatives.
  • Monitor and ensure staff are trained as required.
  • May maintain a caseload of one or two clients using CBT or DBT therapy modalities; and will actively participate in receiving feedback on their clinical skills through the CBSM framework and/or DBT consultation meetings
  • Provide back-up coverage for other Client Services Supervisors as needed.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support to Live-In Treatment program for one-week periods throughout the year (lieu time compensation provided).
  • Liaises with relevant community stakeholders and maintains ongoing contact with community partners.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues to ensure efficiency of services
Qualifications:
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work or a Health-Related Discipline with a minimum of 2-5 years relevant experience is preferred.
  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, or related discipline with extensive and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Must be registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or other regulatory college as applicable.
  • Must be eligible and able to perform Psychotherapy as defined under the act.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years relevant experience working in a mental health setting, is required
  • Previous leadership experience will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated expertise in understanding the importance of child/family assessment, family, group and individual therapy interventions, case management, and working with inter-disciplinary teams.
  • Solid understanding of evidence-based practice and experience working with children/families with complex needs;
  • Sound knowledge in CBT principles and application of these with children, youth and families
  • Computer literacy and effective report writing abilities.
  • Foundational DBT training and experience delivering intervention
  • Enthusiasm, versatility, and adaptability.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational, engagement and time management skills.
  • Travel is required for this position; the successful incumbent must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to obtain automobile insurance which includes driving for business purposes with a minimum liability of one million dollars.
