Job Description

Brotech Precision CNC is a precision metal CNC machining company, employing over 50 people in Barrie, ON. We are the "go-to" company for challenging and rewarding CNC machining projects. We have earned a reputation for excellence in precision CNC machining by working with tight tolerances and with a variety of materials that include stainless steel, composite and exotic materials, fiberglass, and more.We have a permanent, full-time openings for CNC Machinists, CNC Setters, & CNC Programmers.The Roles: CNC Machinist

  • Load and operate various types of CNC machinery
  • Perform various types of inspections, including but not limited to: first-off inspection, random inspections, interval inspections, 100% inspections, etc. using tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
  • Read & interpret engineering drawings
  • Understand root cause analysis to address quality issues
  • Prepare documentation and reports for supervisor and management staff
CNC Setter
  • Perform set up of various types CNC machinery, tooling, and fixtures by selecting, installing, and adjusting alignment of drills, cutters, dies, guides, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Move and adjust controls or mount gears, cams, or templates in machines to set feed rates and cutting speeds, depths, and angles.
  • Perform first-off inspections, & make adjustments to machine & tooling set up as necessary using tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
  • Read & interpret engineering drawings
  • Understand root cause analysis to address quality issues.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for supervisor and management staff
CNC Programmer
  • Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
  • Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machine programming as they arise
The Right Candidate:
  • Has experience operating, setting up, and/or programming CNC machinery, including CNC lathes, mills, mill turns, and 3, 4, & 5-axis machines
  • Has experience working within industries such as aerospace, nuclear, defense, and oil & gas
  • Is familiar with AS9100, ISO9001, & Z299.1/.2/.3/.4 quality assurance standards
  • Has experience working with metals including steel & aluminum
  • Is available for overtime, including weekend shifts & extended shifts
  • Is available for shift work as required.
  • Has a process improvement mindset & is confident in voicing ideas for process improvement.
  • Has strong measuring skills and a high comfort level with measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
  • Understands the importance of a positive, team-based attitude, and is capable of working professionally within their own team and with cross-functional teams.
  • Is comfortable working in a manufacturing/industrial type environment
  • Is comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and performing repetitive manual labour tasks such as bending, reaching, twisting, & leaning into machinery

Shifts: Day Shift:
  • Monday - Thursday, 7:00a.m. - 4:30p.m., + Friday 7:00a.m. - 3:30p.m.
Afternoon Shift:
  • Monday - Thursday: 4:00p.m. - 3:00a.m.
Weekend Shift:
  • Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, 6:00a.m. – 6:00p.m.
