Job Description

Working with Service Providers, Government, Healthcare, and Enterprises across Canada, MOBIA has developed strategic business relationships with industry leading technology partners to help our customers achieve positive business outcomes.MOBIA is currently recruiting a Field Data Collector in Barrie, Ontario.In this role you will be responsible for capturing pole and customer premise information pertaining to existing telecom infrastructure in various areas, using a state-of-the-art GIS handheld unit You will be accountable to plan your day efficiently to provide accurate, comprehensive data with an approved set of guidelines back to an administrative resource. As a field data collector, you can expect to spend approximately 80% of your time outdoors.Skills / Qualifications:

  • Must be able to navigate environmental terrain and tolerate weather conditions
  • Must be able to travel within and outside of their residing City determined by project requirements, overnight or extended remote work may be required
  • Completion of relevant Post-Secondary Education
  • Team player
  • Ability to work outside 80% of the time
  • Ability to work independently 90% of the time
  • Ability to travel for 4-8 day trips
  • Self-starter with high attention to detail
  • Customer Service focused individual that takes pride in delivering high quality data results
  • Valid and minimum class 5 driver’s license with a clear driving history
  • Proficiency with MS-Office; and the ability to learn new systems and software programs
  • Proactive problem solver with strong listening skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to interface with other departments
As a Field Data Collector, you will receive training from MOBIA to get you acquainted with the role.Assets:
  • Experience in a telecommunications environment
  • Experience working with handheld devices, like Trimble or IKE GPS units
  • Proficiency with MS-Office; and the ability to learn new systems and software programs
  • Experience in outside plant engineering
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • 1-2 years of experience working as a Land Surveyor
