Job Title: Freight CoordinatorLocation: Barrie, OntarioTerms: Permanent Full-TimeSalary: Competitive, based on experienceReports to: Director of OperationsAbout us: North American Freight Forwarding is a Canadian based company specializing in logistics services with specific strength in warehousing and distribution, LTL consolidations, expedites, full truckloads and specialized equipment service to and from Canada, United States and Mexico.   • Arranging transport of import and export FTL and LTL shipments within and between Canada and the USA
  • Negotiating rates with Carriers
  • Quoting Customers
  • Tracking shipments
  • Communicating shipment details with customers and agents
  • Submitting documents to Customs Brokers
  • Arranging local pickups and deliveries
  • Calculating revenue and costs on shipment files

  • Responsive: Committed to a high level of responsiveness both inside our business and with our customers and vendors
  • Proactive: Takes initiative and an organized approach to day-to-day operations as well as future needs
Professional & Educational Background
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Transborder Operations in the 3PL industry
  • Knowledge of Forward Air type systems
  • Working knowledge of Loadlink
  • Experience with Tradeshow and white glove freight
Skills & Ability
  • Communication: Has good listening skills and communicates effectively in both written and verbal formats including proficiency in spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Organization: Must be highly organized and detail-oriented when dealing with our fast- paced environment
  • Multi-tasking: Must have strong multi-tasking abilities, be proactive and adaptable based on the needs of the company and our clients
